Germany: Hate campaign against female expert on Islamism

The Internet portal NRW-Direkt reports:

After her revelations about the so-called “Kita-Imam” (Kita=abbreviation for day nursery, Ed.), the expert on Islamism Sigrid Herrmann-Marschall is facing a smear campaign on the Internet. She has to endure countless insults, the accusation of “AfD party closeness” and other untruths. The member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Herrmann-Marschall, made public in mid-March that the day-care center imam Asmer U. shared radical fundamentalist and anti-Semitic contents on Facebook. On the 14th of March the expert on Islamism Sigrid Herrmann-Marschall made public that Asmer U., known as “Kita-Imam”, shared radical fundamentalist and anti-Semitic contents on his Facebook page. To this end, she published a post on her blog ” Vorwärts und nicht vergessen – Islamismus und Gesellschaft”. She also sent a press release to a number of media in the Rhineland, particularly in the Düsseldorf area. The Bosnian Imam Asmer U. is to educate children about Islam in a Protestant day care center in Düsseldorf-Reisholz. The Protestant-Muslim community project was initiated by the Diakonie Düsseldorf as the sponsor of the Steubenstraße daycare centre in the Reisholz district together with the Circle of Düsseldorf Muslims (KDDM).Neither the Diakonie nor the KDDM reacted to the revelations of Sigrid Herrmann-Marschall, which are documented by numerous screenshots. Asmer U., however, deleted all corresponding contributions from his Facebook profile on the same day. Shortly afterwards, he published an article in which he accused Herrmann-Marschall of having published a “denouncing” and “inflammatory” blog post about him. He explained the extremist contributions on his Facebook page by saying that he “also had to deal with the content and theology of the content”.Then he attacked the Islamism expert head-on and also did not avoid insinuations: “She is obviously to be located in the area of right-wing populist forces like the AfD and can hardly hide this”, he wrote among other things. He also called Herrmann-Marschall a “well-known AfD expert”. Among the few people who marked the Facebook entry of Asmer U. with “Like” was Dirk Sauerborn. The well-known policeman also represents the Salafism prevention program “Wegweiser” in Düsseldorf. An appropriate Screenshot is present to our editorship. What was striking about Asmer U.’s Facebook contribution was that, in addition to an article in the weekly  Der Spiegel, he had linked two contributions to the blog ” Wehrt dem Hass “. What was striking about Asmer U.’s Facebook contribution was that, in addition to an article in Der Spiegel, he had linked two contributions to the blog ” Wehrt dem Hass “. This blog was launched in 2016 and is mainly used to denigrate Herrmann-Marschall. Thus the long-standing SPD member Herrmann-Marschall is accused of stereotypically being close to the AfD.[…]
However, left-wing and especially Islamist circles immediately eagerly took up the blog post on Sunday and Monday and shared it countless times on Facebook. However, left-wing and especially Islamist circles immediately eagerly took up the blog post on Sunday and Monday and shared it countless times on Facebook. In the comments it led to personal insults and abuse against Herrmann-Marschall. Thus Ferid Heider, a nationwide acting Imam of an institution under the observation of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, described the Islamism expert as “Islamophobic and disguised right-wing agitator”.[…]
What was striking was that many of these disparaging comments were written by people who had been named on her blog by Sigrid Herrmann-Marschall in the past because of documented Islamist activities or contacts to Islamists, as well as people who had made themselves known as Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat members in previous attacks on her. The Düsseldorf “Kita-Imam” Asmer U. also immediately shared the inflammatory post on his Facebook page. This time, however, there was no “like” from Dirk Sauerborn – who had possibly been forewarned by Herrmann-Marschall’s article published by the Ruhr Barone blog.On inquiry of our editorship with the Düsseldorf police, how the latter evaluates that an coworker of the police executive board had marked a defamation of Herrmann Marschall, which contained wrong representations, in the week before with “Like”, said a spokesman on Monday, Sauerborn made this as private person. “So, of course, we will not comment on this in any way,” said the police spokesman. Dirk Sauerborn is a police contact officer for intercultural affairs. That includes in particular the contact of the police to the Muslim municipalities of the city.
