Austria: An African man locked himself in a bus together with 70 pupils, police moved in

Students had to experience disturbing situations. On Friday morning, a 64-year-old school bus driver from Wels told the arriving policemen that a 14-year-old pupil of African descent had behaved unpleasantly several times in the past few days and was unable to present a valid ticket. Therefore, he refused to give him a ride that day. The driver had also informed the 22-year-old brother of the 14-year-old, who had boarded the bus, of this fact. When the bus driver drove out of the bus stop, the 22-year-old black African suddenly reached into the steering wheel, pulled the vehicle key out of the ignition and threw it in the direction of the front entrance door. Then the student stopped between the steering wheel and the door so that the chauffeur could not reach the key.The latter called the police. Precarious: Since the doors could only be opened with the ignition switched on, the 70 or so schoolchildren had to wait in the bus until the police arrived. Only when the African noticed the policemen did he pick up the key and hand it over to the bus driver. According to the police, the facts of the case have now been reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Wels.
